Filmmaking

Over the course of eight 5-hour days, students will work in groups to conceptualize, write, shoot, and edit a short film. They will be challenged to convey emotion and story through actions and sounds instead of through dialogue.

Students will work with professional filmmaking equipment such as DSLRs, dollies, cranes, gimbals, sliders, lighting, and more.

Medfield TV’s staff of professionally-trained media experts will train students on the fundamentals of filmmaking and video editing, and will mentor students throughout every step of the production process.

Students may add their final projects to their demo reels or portfolios, and projects will air on Medfield TV’s cable channels and YouTube channel.

Dates: July 8 – 11 & July 15 – 18 (8 days total)

Time: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Grades: Rising Sophomores through rising Seniors

Other Teen Opportunities

Medfield TV offers a welcoming space for teens to learn new skills and build their portfolios. We offer mentorships for Senior Projects, and students can apply at https://www.medfield.tv/learn/seniorprojects/

We also offer 1:1 and group training on our equipment and software. Students interested in learning our equipment should email us at info@medfield.tv. Once trained, students may sign up to volunteer in various production roles. Get in touch with us to learn more!
